Opening Day for 2017 at Dutch Wonderland was so much fun! If you’re planning a visit to the Kingdom for Kids this summer, here’s a few changes you should keep in mind for the 2017 season.
The construction of Merlin’s Mayhem is underway. In case you haven’t heard, Dutch Wonderland is getting a suspended roller coaster this summer! An opening date has not been announced yet, but there’s a lot of construction going on to get it ready. It’s already evident that it will really change the look of the park, and I can’t wait to see the final results.
A couple rides are temporarily closed for Merlin’s Mayhem construction. The Skyride and Wonderland Special (the train) are both closed, as their rides must intermingle with the coaster in some way, closing them temporarily. Hopefully they will be back once the coaster is complete. We love both of these rides!
New height requirement for the Kingdom Coaster. My daughter started riding the Kingdom Coaster when she was 42″ tall, but now the coaster has a 46″ height requirement. Keep this in mind if you child may have rode the coaster previously and then can’t this year.
Season Pass Dining Plan! For the first time, Dutch Wonderland is offering an All Season Dining pass. It is for season passholders, and includes two meals and a cotton candy or popcorn with each visit. There are certain meal options and food locations, so check it out on their website.
Have a great amusement park season! Comment if you noticed any other differences between this year and last.
