Franklin Street Social - Red Lion, PA - Been There Done That with Kids

Franklin Street Social is a food hall with nine restaurants, a bar, a two-story kid’s playhouse, and a slide for both adults and kids. It is located at 214 North Franklin Street in Red Lion, which is about 15 minutes from York, Pennsylvania.

There is on-street parking and a large parking lot available. One entrance to the building is in the parking lot. This entrance takes you into a large lobby and then the top floor. The on-street parking along Franklin Street has a bottom floor entrance.

Directional signage helps you find the eateries, kid’s play space, and the entrance to the slide. A variety of seating is available on both levels of the food hall.

Seating options include high top tables, traditional booths, nooks under the stairs and couches. Some of the seating has convenient outlets for charging laptops and phones.

The food hall makes use of an historic building in Red Lion. The building was previously a furniture factory, so they’ve kept some historical elements and added a modern vibe.

Kid’s Play Space

There are several seats available right outside the kid’s play space. The play area has a glass wall, making it easy to keep an eye on your kids from the seating area. Note there is a height limit to enter the play space.

The play space includes a two-story house with a play kitchen and a twist slide. The house has cute details, like a mailbox and windows.

The kid’s play space is also close to the large slide entrance. The slide even fits adults. It’s a fun way to get to the bottom floor.

The entrance to the slide has a gate around it, and there is a landing area on the first floor. The slide is not extremely fast, so the landing is fairly tame, at least in our experience.
