Mt. Gretna Lake & Beach is located at 130 Lakeside Drive. The town of Mt. Gretna is known for its scenic views and small town charm. It’s a great addition to your vacation in Hershey, as it’s only about 20 minutes from the town famous for chocolate.

Mt. Gretna Lake and Beach is one of the nostalgic and fun summer attractions in the town. This swimming beach has a daily ticket that must be purchased online. Leading up to the lake is a grassy lawn with some shade trees.

Then, a sandy beach provides a gentle slope into the water. There’s ropes outlining the shallow section of the lake. In the deeper portion, there’s a high dive platform, swing, and a low dive. Of course, strong swimmers are only allowed in the deeper portion with the dives. Plus, there’s also some platforms for hanging out above the water.

The lake provides tube and chair rentals by the day, though you are also welcome to bring your own. There are also canoe and kayak rentals.

Food, beverages, and coolers are permitted to be brought to the lake. However, there’s also a snack bar available with pizza, hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, and more.

Picnic facilities for group parties are available, as well as showers and changing rooms. Shaded areas on the porch, as well as some shade trees in the lawn provide some relief from the sun.

At the end of the day, sand wash stations are available by the restroom building. While the snack bar has ice cream, the lake is also about a three minute drive to the historic Jigger Shop ice cream parlor.

There’s a variety of amazingly-large sundaes, shakes, and more at The Jigger Shop. Then, enjoy your ice cream on their shady porch.
