Elm’s Beach Park is located in Lexington Park, Maryland, which is close to the historic St. Mary’s City in southern Maryland.

The park charges a fee to enter on weekends and holidays during the summer, starting in May. On summer weekdays and out of season, there is not a fee. Current fees, park information, and rules can be found here.
The park features a large playground with separate play structures for young children and older children. There are several slides and climbing opportunities on both play structures.

A row of swings rounds out the offerings of the playground area. The play surface underneath the play structures is rubbery and solid, though it resembles pieces of mulch.

Just a short walk from the playground is a section of shaded picnic tables, along with some grills. The picnic tables overlook the beach and water.

The park’s beach area has a bit of sand, which gradually descends into the water. As with many bay area beaches, watch for jellyfish, especially during the height of summer.

The views of the water are quite beautiful, and there is enough space for some shell hunting and playing in the sand.
