Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania is a small town southeast of Harrisburg. It’s located between Lancaster and Harrisburg along Interstate 283. Elizabethtown’s downtown area has added some fun new shops and eateries during the past few years. There’s also cute playgrounds in the area, so check out the list below!
Bookshelf Shenanigans
Bookshelf Shenanigans is a bookstore located in the heart of downtown Elizabethtown. The bookstore features a lot of character, both with the decor and their leprechaun mascot which recommends books.

The children’s area of Bookshelf Shenanigans has a Dr. Seuss theme and includes many types of books and related merchandise.

Bookshelf Shenanigans is located in Center Square at 2 North Market Street. There are several options for parking. In addition to on-street parking, there are several metered lots along E High Street and N Cherry Alley. The meters are relatively inexpensive, so a few coins will do.
The Tatted Toy Guys Toy Emporium
This retro toy store is also located in Center Square. Their address is 4 South Market Street. While retro toys are the focus of the toy emporium, there are also some modern toys featured in this new and used collectable toy store.

There is so much to explore in this store. Many toys are reminiscent of childhoods in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Some of the sections of this large store include Star Wars, classic plush, action figures, toys inspired by movies, and more.

In addition to toys, there’s a kid-size Pac Man machine and a claw machine for some arcade-fun while visiting the store. Be sure to check their Facebook page for fun events and featured toys.
Figments in Sprinkles
While shopping downtown, treats are available throughout the area. One stop is Figments in Sprinkles, an ice cream shop where you can order customized creations to meet your taste! Choose your ice cream flavor, size, and “delivery system” including many types of cones, waffle, bubble. Then, choose from a long list of toppings.

In the warmer months, tables are available outside to enjoy your ice cream, along with some bar seating inside.
Good Burrito
If you’re looking for a full meal, downtown Elizabethtown has many offerings. There’s a coffee shop with sandwiches, deli, creperie, and Good Burrito. Good Burrito is just up from Center Square at 17 West High Street. Custom burritos, quesadillas, and tacos with many options are freshly made here.

The Candy Unicornium
Across the street from Good Burrito is The Candy Unicornium. This candy shop features popular candies, as well as retro favorites and items that are much more rare and unique to find.

The store is decorated with blossoming “trees”, and it is filled with gummies, chocolate bars, lollipops, and so much more.

Rapho Township Community Park
While not located in downtown, a fun park to stop at during a visit to Elizabethtown is Rapho Township Community Park. This park is located at 960 Strickler Road, Mount Joy. It features a very long zip line, large playground, toddler playground, and climbing structures.

Fun Fort
Fun Fort is located closer to the Elizabethtown downtown, than Rapho Township Park. It’s only a short four minute drive from Center Square. This park has a newer, fenced in play area, along with some older play equipment located deeper into the park, by the stream.
