Taylor Farm Park is located at 200 Whiteside Road in Sandston, Virginia. Sandston is outside of Richmond, Virginia, just east of the city. This large, new park is easy to access from I-295 and I-64.

This park is a great road trip stop for trips south, originating from Pennsylvania or Maryland, especially if headed to Virginia Beach, the Outer Banks, or many other destinations in North Carolina or southern Virginia.

During the summer months, the playground boasts water play opportunities with a splash pad and a man-made stream. The top of the stream has a water wheel and small waterfall, and then it cascades down through the center of the playground. Check out the community park’s website for current splash pad hours of operation.

Misting hills beside the splash pad also offer a slight mist to cool off during the hot summer days. There are buttons to activate the mist located beside the hills.

The playground area of the park is quite large. There are two play structures at the front of the park which include a small tree structure and slide for younger children.

Beside the small tree paly structure is a much larger tree-themed play structure with two large slides and many climbing opportunities. This area also includes some smaller nature-themed climbing structures.

Winding through the playground is a shallow stream which is specifically made for water play. Water shoes may be best for this area to avoid slipping. The stream splits the playground between the traditional playground structures and the ropes climber area of the park.

Swimsuits and water shoes are recommended when playing in the stream. A few picnic tables and benches line this area. Plus, there is a large pavilion and a smaller shade structure with tables located in this general area.

The ropes section of the park has many different size climbing nets including a spider web shaped net.

A larger, longer ropes course is also available for older children. This area includes two zip lines, one long zip line and two shorter ones that are beside each other.

The park also features a walking trail through the woods with two boardwalks.
More adventure awaits across the parking lot, as a separate area of the park features skate and biking opportunities.

The skate park and flow bowl / pump track has areas for all skill levels. There is a BMX course and two different areas of the skate park.

Check out the park’s list of rules for using this area of the park.
