Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is a 342-acre resort located along the Choptank River and close to the Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, Maryland. It boasts a 18-hole golf course, three pools (some seasonal), marina, full-service spa, and daily activities.
The resort features several types of rooms, including water view options. There’s also family suites which include bunk beds for the kids.
Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Pools
There are two seasonal outdoor pools at the resort, two hot tubs (one indoor / outdoor and one adult-only outdoor), and one indoor pool.
One of the seasonal outdoor pools is called the Crescent pool, and it is an adults-only pool. The Crescent pool is an infinity pool. With the river as a backdrop, it looks like it goes right into the river. However, there’s additional seating and a small river beach between the pool and the river.
The Activity pool is also a seasonal outdoor pool. This is a kid-friendly pool with a water slide and spray jets. There’s a wide entry with stairs for kids. This pool has lounge chairs and shade umbrellas.
The water slide into the Activity pool requires kids to be at least 40″ tall to use the slide. Children between 40″ and 48″ must wear a flotation device when using the side. The resort provides the life jackets for children. They are located at the towel hut, which is beside the door to the indoor pool.
In between the two outdoor pools is the resort’s tiki bar, Off the Rook. There’s also a food and drink pick-up window inside the resort, in the indoor pool area. Food can be ordered via their website, which is available by QR code throughout the resort.
The indoor pool has a volleyball net and a basketball hoop. The depth varies from around 3 feet to 5 feet. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs. There’s also an ice machine and water fountain in this area.
Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Dive-in Movie
The indoor pool has dive-in movies during some evenings. The movie schedule is available at the desk in the lobby.
Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Activities
Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is a golf resort, so of course there’s an 18-hole golf course.
There are more activities throughout the resort, including beach volleyball, tennis, disc golf, and miniature golf. The lawn beside the indoor pool building has cornhole, giant connect four, giant Jenga, and more. Some days during the summer there are kids activities, including belly flop and splash contests, kickball games, and more.
Down by the marina there are bikes, paddle boats, stand up paddle boards, jet skis and kayaks are available to rent during the warmer months. There’s also a nature trail along the river.
In the evenings, the resort has a fire in their large fireplace where you can roast marshmallows for s’mores. S’mores kits are available at their food pick-up window for a fee.
At sunset, be sure to walk to the end of the pier to get a great view of the sun setting over the Choptank River.
