Strasburg Rail Road Tickets
Tickets to this special event and other events during the year should be purchased in advance on the Strasburg Rail Road website, as they often sell out. When you arrive at the station, check in at the ticket booth.
Important: This particular Halloween-themed ride, The Legacy of Sleepy Hollow, is recommended by Strasburg Rail Road for children ages 8+ who will not be spooked by this creepy story and the scare actors who accompany the scenic train ride.
While waiting for the show to begin, snacks are available for purchase, and include a themed dessert, sodas, pretzels, and popcorn.
There’s also a general store to purchase souvenirs such as shirts, and other railroad-related gifts.
For children, there’s a playground tucked behind the buildings on the far side of the platform.
Before the pre-show time, make your way to the Town Square Stage. The show is interactive, with the chance to talk with the creepy characters, who even include the train conductors.
After the pre-show, the train is loaded for a ride through the Lancaster countryside, with a stop at the Sleepy Hollow cemetery.
Once on board the train, the Legacy of Sleepy Hollow is told as the train heads down the tracks. Spooky surprises await the riders. Keep in mind it may get much darker on the train, and there may be additional visitors to the train car.
After the surprises during the train ride, the train heads back to the station for the finale. Hang around after the show, as the cast of characters will re-appear to pose for photos.
