Yogi Bear’s Jellystone ParkTM is a camping and vacation destination located about 20 miles inland from the popular Delaware beach towns of Lewes, Rehoboth, and Dewey.
The campground features many new attractions, amenities, and activities, including a brand new splash pad and water slides that were added in 2021. The new water attractions are located close to the entrance of Jellystone Park.
Lodging
The campground accommodates tent camping, RVs, but also provides lodging in cabins. There are luxury cabins which include separate bedrooms and a kitchenette.
New in 2021 are premier cabins which include two bedrooms. One bedroom with three twin beds (two twin beds are elevated bunks) and a bedroom with a full size bed.
The premier cabins have a full bathroom with walk-in rain shower. There’s also a kitchenette with full size refrigerator / freezer, kitchen sink, microwave, and stove.
Pots, utensils, plates, and bowls are supplied. There’s even a toaster and coffee maker.
Attractions
Jellystone Park at Delaware Beaches includes water attractions with your stay. There’s a pool surrounded by lounge chairs with two umbrella tables. There are changing rooms and restrooms in the building beside the pool.
The building also has an overhang to provide some shade by the pool. The water depth in the pool goes from 3 feet to 5 feet. There are stairs for gradual entry.
In addition to the pool, there are water slides and a splash pad. There are three mini slides on the splash pad as well as a giant dumping bucket. Along the slide of the water play structure are water sprayers and three spray rings.
The new water attractions include two corkscrew water slides. One slide is an open slide, while the other is an enclosed slide.
The Jump Pad
Beside the arcade is the brightly colored jumping pad. Kids can hop around on this pad and burn off their extra energy. Picnic tables and corn hole surround the jump pad.
Playground
Jellystone Park has two playground structures. There are picnic tables and benches surrounding them, making it a great place to hang out. Basketball hoops a volleyball court, and a batting cage are all nearby.
Jellystone Park Amenities
Golf carts are available for rental. Drivers must be 16 years or older with a valid driver’s license. The kids loved riding in the seats in the back. Be sure to tell them to hold on for bumps and starts! It’s fun to explore the campground in a golf cart and it is a very convenient to ride to each attraction.
There’s also an arcade on site with a variety of games.
Activities
Throughout the summer and early fall, Jellystone Park has a plethora of activities and themed weekends. The list of themed weekends and dates can be found here.
Examples of weekend themes include Color Rush, Shark Week, Water Wars, Christmas in July, Beach, Space, and Carnival weekends. In the fall, there’s trick or treat weekends and costume contests.
Weekends also have activities, some examples include “Hey” rides, ice cream socials, movie nights, interactions with Yogi BearTM, Boo BooTM, and Cindy BearTM, sand art, tie dying, and more!
Jellystone Park Campstore
The Jellystone Park Campstore has everything needed for a successful camping trip. Of course, there’s firewood and charcoal. Other supplies include board games, cornhole, craft kits, snacks, t-shirts, hats, toys, and much more!
If you forget any of the essentials like sunscreen, power cords, RV leveling blocks, or grill accessories the Jellystone Park Campstore is a convenient place to get what you need.
Jellystone Park Cabin Packing List
When staying at a cabin at Jellystone Park Delaware Beaches, it’s important to know what to pack in order to maximize the fun. Here’s a suggested list of things to pack when renting a cabin: linens for beds, pillows, campfire cooking supplies, towels for the pool and bathroom, hair dryer, toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels.
Area Attractions
While visiting Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Delaware Beaches, there’s many attractions in the area in addition to the Delaware Beaches. Fishing, golfing, shopping, gaming, and breweries are in the nearby area. The main attraction is, of course, the beaches of the Delaware coast.
Check out the Air Mobility Command Museum at the Dover Air Force Base. At this museum, you can view aircraft retired from combat during World War II among other aircraft. Some aircraft are open to view the inside of these historic planes. There’s even an air traffic control tower to ascend and watch planes take off from Dover Air Force Base.
Another nearby attraction is Cape Henlopen, a Delaware State Park. This park is rich with history from protecting the coast during World War II. There’s a swimming beach with amenities such as a bath house and snack bar, tower to view the coast, a visitor’s center with touch tank, and free bike rentals to explore the cape.
