The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park is located at 1847 Fitness Way in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Aquatic Center is on the outskirts of town, northwest of Morgantown. This general area has sports facilities used by the community and West Virginia University.
The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park has a 50-meter Olympic pool and diving well. It also has a community pool. The community pool features zero-depth entry, several lap lanes, multiple water slides, and water play features.
Monthly memberships are available, or daily visit passes can be purchased for access to the community pool and outdoor splash pad (open seasonally). More information about daily passes can be found here, and the daily schedule for the community pool and facility hours can be found here.
The community pool has two main water slides. One is a large twisting blue slide, and the other is a green double straight slide. Each of the larger slides has specific rules for use. See the photo and information below.
Beside the two large slides is a shallow area for toddlers and young children. There some water play structures, including a log-themed small slide.
On the other side of the toddler area is the zero-depth entry and another water play structure for smaller children. This area also includes some small dumping buckets. It gets a bit deeper farther out in this area, but not very deep.
The community pool also features multiple lap lanes for swimming. There are chairs lining two of the walls, and lounge chairs lining another wall. The fourth wall has some benches, as well.
Keep in mind that the large blue slide and the two smaller green slides have height, adult supervision in the pool, and/or swim test requirements.
The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park Splash Pad
In the summer, community pool visitor passes also include the outdoor splash pad. The splash pad is mostly in the sun, but becomes somewhat shaded by the building during part of the day. There are many spray and splash elements to enjoy and a gorgeous view.
Inside, there are two family restrooms available inside the community pool area. There are also locker rooms across the hall. An assortment of snacks and drinks are available by the front desk. There’s even a small store which sells West Virginia University apparel.
Tips for Visiting The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park
The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park holds special events and swim meets throughout the year. Always check their website or call before visiting to confirm their schedule.
There is a track and field complex across the parking lot from The Aquatic Center, which also holds special events and track meets. Keep this in mind for visits, as well.
Don’t forget goggles and flip flops or water-proof shoes for the locker room.
