Coopers Rock State Forest Park is located at 61 County Line Drive in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. Coopers Rock is just east of Cheat Lake, and not too far from the Pennsylvania and Maryland state lines.
Coopers Rock State Forest is known for their hiking trails, and most notably, their overlook called Coopers Rock.
The overlook is a short walk from one of the main parking area in the State Forest. At this parking area, there are also picnic tables, a playground, and a general store called the Overlook Trading Post.
Overflow parking is available in a large lot right before the main lot. The trail starts on the left side of the parking lot when pulling into the main parking area.
The overlook is lined with fencing, and there is are binoculars to get a closer look at the view. Bring quarters if you’d like to use the binoculars to get a better view.
This is one of the locations of the “Almost Heaven” swings that West Virginia tourism has placed throughout the state in their most scenic locations.
