ACE Adventure Resort features camping and cabins, whitewater rafting, an outdoor water park, ropes course and much more. It is located in Oak Hill, West Virginia, by the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve.
The resort is easy to access from I-64 which runs through West Virginia. I-64 connects with I-81 in Virginia. The resort features many activities for day trips, and there are also many options for overnight stays.
Overnight Accommodations
Cabins, tent camping, RV campsites, and even cabin tents are available as options to stay onsite.
Some cabins even feature private hot tubs on the decks. The cabins can also have fire pits, picnic tables, and some have their own WiFi. Check the features of each overnight stay option, as there are many accommodation choices and the amenities differ.
Activities should be scheduled at the resort in advance of your trip, as they often sell out their time slots. When checking in to spend the night, stop at the Welcome Center to get access to your accommodations. The Welcome Center also sells items for your camping needs, including firewood.
Waterpark
The outdoor waterpark is located beside the Welcome Center. The waterpark sits on a five-acre spring-fed lake. It is filled with inflatable obstacles, and also features two tower zip lines which dips into the water at the end.
There are two water slides and an inflated pillow to jump on from above. Tickets can be purchased for the water park for the full day, or there are half day options for only morning/early afternoon or only late afternoon/evening.
It is best to have waivers filled out and tickets purchased for the water park in advance, as they can sell out. Head to the water park entrance to have your tickets scanned and receive your wristbands.
Inside the water park, there are food options including wood-fired pizzas, wings, burgers, and more. The kids really enjoyed their slushies!
For a sit down meal, check out The Lost Paddle Restaurant near the water park. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Memorial Day through early October.
The aerial ropes course is on the other side of the parking lot from the waterpark. Restrooms and changing rooms are available in the parking lot area for switching between the waterpark and a dry activity. The resort also features a zipline tour, mud obstacle course, ATV tours, and more.
