Fort Smallwood Park is located at 9500 Fort Smallwood Road in Pasadena, Maryland. The park is approximately 90 acres and sits at the tip of a peninsula. The body of water around the park is where the Patapsco River and Rock Creek meet with the Chesapeake Bay.

There is an entrance fee for this park. The fee is $6 per vehicle (subject to change). Annual passes are available to Anne Arundel County Parks, which also includes Kinder Farm Park and Downs Park.

The park has many features, including a playground, fishing pier, walking trail, boat ramp, beach area, and wetlands. The main road around the park is a loop. The first stop on the loop is the beaches and wetlands. A parking lot is located by the beaches, as well as a new restroom building.

There are outside showers available to clean up after relaxing or playing on the sandy beaches. The showers are located beside the restroom building, and there are several of them.

At the entrance to the beach, there’s a bin for a beach toy library, where you can lend or use a beach toy while you are at the park.

There are several beach coves, and farther ones can be accessed via a wide and paved path that takes you along the wetlands on one side and the beach on the other.

Note that swimming is at your own risk. There could be jellyfish at certain times of the season. Lifeguards are not on duty.

Continuing on the park road there is a playground, which has a parking lot and restroom building nearby. There’s also a large, round pavilion in this area, located along the waterfront.
