Lancaster County Central Park is located south of Lancaster City in West Lampeter Township. The park’s address is 1050 Rockford Road, which is central location in Lancaster County.

The park boasts a large swimming pool in the summer, as well as a skate park, pavilions, and hiking trails. One of the most unique features of the park is the Garden of Five Senses.

The garden is a winding trail that follows a babbling brook down a slight slope. The trail features many different water elements.

A small parking lot is located at the top of the trail. A larger parking lot is located at the bottom of the Five Senses Garden trail. The top parking lot is right beside the restroom building.

The walk through the garden is not long, maybe a quarter of a mile, and it slowly winds down a hill.

Along the path, there are benches to enjoy the scenery. There are also many signs available to help you interpret the five senses features of the garden.

Toward the end of the trail, the water feature includes a waterfall cascading down from a pond. This is an especially beautiful area of the garden.

There is also a small picnic grove with picnic tables located about halfway down the winding trail. When we visited, deer were sighted in this area. It’s a beautiful place to stop for a picnic lunch.

On the opposite end of the trail from the picnic grove is a pavilion.
