LeTort Park opened in a new playground recently. The new playground, along with the seasonal splash pad, large pavilion, and scenic stream make for a great trip to the park.
LeTort Park is located at 260 East Pomfret Street in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Carlisle is just west of Pennsylvania’s capital city of Harrisburg.
The new playground features an extra wide slide, hanging zipline, monkey bars, swings, and more.
There are also two shade structures with benches in the playground area. The playground is not fenced, but there is a large amount of grass between the playground and the parking lot.
Another fun feature of LeTort Park is the splash pad that operates in the summer. There is a shallow pool of water that accumulates around the splash pad. One fountain in the middle provides a fairly gentle spray of water. If it turns off, there is a button along the side of the pad to turn it back on.
Another nice element of this park is the small stream that runs through it. When we visited, there were geese, ducks, and even some baby ducks enjoying the stream. There are many trees in this area to provide shade as you watch the ducks.
The park includes a large pavilion which can be rented through the borough of Carlisle. A much smaller pavilion is located closer to the playground. The large pavilion includes restrooms, but they are typically locked. There is a portable restroom behind the large pavilion.
