Jubilee Cake Studio is located at 105 Gateway Drive in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. It’s in a shopping center a few miles west of the capital city of Harrisburg. Jubilee Cake Studio offers walk-in cake, cookie, and cupcake decorating. The studio recently added an imaginative play area with mini mansions.
There are scheduled workshops where you can learn how to decorate a specific style of cake. They also host decorate it yourself or mini-mansion play parties. Check out the variety of party options on their website.
Walk-in Cake Decorating
Walk-ins are available during the studio’s normal business hours. Check out their website for their hours, or look at their Facebook page. Cakes are 5 inch round, two-layer cakes with vanilla buttercream. Cupcakes come in six-packs with yellow and chocolate flavors available. Packs of cookies are also available to decorate.
After choosing a cake or cupcakes, the family fun pack includes three frostings, three large fondants, and three bags of sprinkles. You can also purchase the toppings individually. Pro Tip: If your party is purchasing several family fun packs, have everyone pick different colors and share! The Studio provides a tray to carry all of your goodies to a table to start decorating.
Once settled at a table, you can go to the tools area to pick all kinds of stencils, cutters, rollers, scissors, etc. There are so many things to choose from! There are also display cakes to give you some ideas on ways to decorate your cake. Take all the needed tools back to your table, and begin decorating! Once you’re finished, they provide boxes to transport your cake.
Cake Decorating Workshops
Workshops are a chance to learn how to decorate a themed-cake, with all of the supplies included. Each workshop is geared toward a certain age group, so be sure to check the age range before registering. Many workshops are for ages 5 and up, but there are special workshops for toddlers and preschoolers.
Each workshops features a specific themed cake, whether it be something from pop culture (Minecraft, Harry Potter, etc) or themed around the current holiday. There are a limited number of seats available for each workshop, so be sure to check the Studio’s website often and/or follow the studio on Facebook for the latest workshop offerings. Please keep in mind that each student must purchase their own cake kit.
Jubilee’s Mini-Mansions
Jubilee Cake Studio now features Jubilee’s Mini Mansions in the studio! There’s 15 different imaginative play mini mansions, including a corral with ride-on horses.
The pretend play continues with a veterinarian hospital, fire house, mini market, diner, RV camper, pirate ship, sweet shop, and more!
Be sure to check out all of the details in the mini mansion area, like the working lights on the fire engine, animals to treat in the veterinary hospital, and a camp “fire” beside the RV camper.
Mini Mansion play admission covers up to 2 hours of play time. You can walk-in to play, advanced reservations are not required. In addition to the 15 play mansions, there’s even a soft play area for toddlers!
The play doesn’t have to stop if you get hungry. There’s now an onsite macaroni bar, called Mac Attack Noodles, with many types of kid-friendly macaroni combinations like Rawr Kids Cheese with Dino Nuggets!
Tips for Visiting Jubilee Cake Studio
- Watch that the piping bags don’t start to have icing come out the top. While the kids weren’t using the icing, I’d make sure the icing was close to the bottom of the bag and ready for use.
- It can get messy! Embrace the mess by having your kids wear older play clothes or an apron.
- Follow the Studio’s Facebook page if you’re planning to do walk-in decorating on a weekend. They often post when they are especially busy, so you can time your visit when tables are available.
- Check out the mini play passes which give you a flexible way to save money on admission to the mini-mansions.
