Port Discovery hosted us for a sneak peek. All opinions are my own.
Port Discovery unveiled their new, $10.5 million renovation, including new central exhibits, on Friday, June 14, 2019. Here’s a summary of the new exhibits and other renovations that took place around the already fun-filled children’s museum.
New Exhibits
The SkyClimber and The Port, featuring a gigantic cargo ship, pay tribute to the location of the museum, the Port of Baltimore. The new exhibit requires that children wear socks (remember this during flip flop season!). They can climb up four-stories, via The SkyClimber.
The SkyClimber has platforms with holes that the children fit through to climb up. Closer to the top, there’s netting that they climb to reach the slide platform. At the top, they can descend quickly via a really fast twisting tunnel slide. Hint: Listen for the sound of slashing water when the kids come to the bottom of the slide.
The cargo ship even has a replica of an engine room for the children to learn and discover the different functions of a ship.
Port Discovery will re-open June 14, 2019 featuring new exhibits!
