Splash Country is Dollywood’s water park located beside Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It is a separately ticketed water park from Dollywood. There is a variety of slides and experiences for different ages and thrill-seeking desires.
Splash Country is tucked into the mountains close to Dollywood and the DreamMore Resort. While you’ll enter through the main Dollywood parking entrance, the road splits after the parking booths.
Splash Country Slides
When you enter, the first set of slides will be to your left, a tube mat racer. I suggest heading further into the park to ride the water coaster and the family raft slides first, as these slides seem to be the most popular.
The water coaster at Dollywood is RiverRush. It is full of twists, turns, hills, and tunnels, to combine for a wild water coaster experience!
There are two family raft slides at the park. These slides allow you to sit with up to four people in a raft and enjoy the twists and turns of the slides with your family.
If you’re a thrill seeker, you’ll want to check out Fire Tower Falls. These slides are 70 feet tall. The slide to the bottom is extremely fast!
The Cascades
It’s easy to miss the Cascades, because they are tucked into the back corner of the park. However, you’ll definitely want to check out this area, especially if you have young children.
There’s a water park area, two small slides, and beautiful waterfalls that enhance the somewhat shallow pool.
There are two water play structures at Splash Country, one for smaller children and one for older children. Each of these areas have chairs, loungers, and shaded areas to watch your children enjoy the water. The smaller play structure is located close to the front of the park.
The larger play structure for older children is located close to the back of the park. It is near the Fire Tower slides and the Cascades.
Splash Country has a variety of mat slides. There is a humped racing mat slide, and then not far from it is a twist and turn mat slide. Also, close to the entrance of the park, there’s a large mat racer structure with tubes.
The area by this large mat racer structure is a great place to relax. There are several picnic tables and a corn hole set. It’s close to the front of the park, and there’s a picnic area kind of feel to it.
If you’re looking to relax, there’s the lazy river and the wave pool. The lazy river has water falls and water features throughout, while the wave pool allows tubes, for a relaxing wave experience.
Splash Country Food Options
The food at Splash Country consists of the kid-favorites such as chicken tenders and hamburgers. There’s also a bit more elaborate food, as we got a chicken club.
We had to try the beaver tails, which are a dessert with a dough bottom. There are a variety of flavors that you can add to it, like oreo cheesecake, hazelnut, apple pie, peanut butter, and strawberry cheesecake.
Tips for Visiting Splash Country
- Wear water shoes or flip flops while walking around the park. The pavement can get hot!
- Don’t miss the Cascades at the back of the park if you have small children in your party. It’s a large kids pool with nice scenery and two small slides. It’s tucked away at the back of the park, so it’s easy to miss.
- Ride the water coaster close to the beginning of the day, as it’s a popular ride.
- Take a meal up to the TailSpin Racer slides. There are several picnic tables available right beside the slide. Once the kids are finished eating they can ride the slide while you relax and enjoy your meal.
