John G. Lancaster Park is located at 21550 Willows Road in Lexington Park, Maryland. The park features a large new playground opened in late 2023, along with athletic fields and courts.
The playground includes two distinct areas. There’s a large play structure and swings for older children, as well as a tot lot and playhouse for younger kids.
The tot lot is fairly large, and also includes a couple of shade structures. There are ramps to access the playground. This area also has a music station.
The tot lot area includes a merry-go-round and a small obstacle course leading from the play structure.
John Lancaster Park Parking
Note there are several parking lots at this park. One large lot is along Willows Road, which is close to the football and soccer athletic fields. This parking lot also has a paved path to the playground.
More parking borders the park along Rennell Avenue. There is a loop of parking by the playground, but this loop is mostly handicap parking.
John Lancaster Park Restrooms
A large restroom building is located close to the playground, at the top of the parking loop. The restrooms were open when we visited in May.
