Mayo Beach Park is located at 4150 Honeysuckle Drive, Edgewater, Maryland. Mayo Beach Park is a bay beach, as it’s located on the South River and Chesapeake Bay. It has sandy shores and waters for wading, water play, and sand play. Picnic tables, a playground and a boat launch are available at the park (boat launch is temporarily closed in May 2024).
Note: This is a managed access park that is open to the public on specific days. A reservation is required to enter the park on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The park is closed on weekdays from June 24th through August 9th, 2024 for summer camp. Find the open days schedule here: Mayo Beach Open Days
Mayo Beach passes are free, but must be reserved before coming to the park on weekends and holidays. This decreases congestion and allows for parking management. Access to the park is through a residential neighborhood. Get more information about the passes here.
Mayo Beach Park also has a playground on top of the hill by the parking. This new playground has a lot of fun slides and lots of things to play on and explore. The playground has a beautiful view of the bay beach.
There are shade structures on the playground, as well as a few large trees to provide shade.
Mayo Beach Park has a glass pavilion that can be rented and used for parties, birthdays, etc. There are bathrooms and showers as well on the top of the hill by the parking.

Note there is a steep slope to get down to the water. A set of stairs is provided to get down to the beach.
Mayo Beach Park is trash free. Plan to remove your trash when you leave for the day.
