Otherworld is an immersive art walk-through experience located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The address is 2500 Grant Ave #1, Philadelphia, PA, which is located in the northeast outskirts of the city. Free parking is available in front of the building.
Otherworld ticket options include timed tickets or flexible entry. As usual, it’s best to reserve tickets online for a particular day and time before going to the location, since they can sell out.
When arriving at Otherworld, check in at the front desk. 3D glasses are available as an additional purchase. We purchased two glasses and shared them within our group. There are two possible entrances to Otherworld once your tickets are scanned, and it didn’t appear that there was a particular path that needed to be followed.
We wandered around and chose which rooms to linger and which to quickly glance at and move on. Don’t miss the small details that can be controlled in certain rooms. For instance, one room has a radio dial to change, another has lights to control.
Scattered throughout the rooms are secret passageways, and some pathways involve crawling. However, if there is a crawling path, there’s also a typical walking path that also leads to the room. You may have to search for it a bit.
The space is much larger than it appears from the outside. Depending on how much time you spend exploring each room, it could take an average of 45 minutes to over an hour to see all of the rooms. At times, we became lost within the maze of rooms, but it was usually just a short time before we found our way again.
One of the larger rooms has a rope climber for the kids to play inside, and there are staff stationed throughout Otherworld to help with directions and answer questions. While there are many creatures throughout the rooms, we didn’t find anything to be overly scary for older children.
There is a fairly large gift shop for souvenirs at the exit of Otherworld. We did not notice any food for sale, so be sure to eat before arriving.
