High Peaks Resort – Lake Placid, NY

High Peaks Resort is located along the main street in the walkable town of Lake Placid, New York. Lake Placid was home to the Winter Olympics twice and features a quaint downtown with restaurants and shopping, plus the Lake Placid Olympics Museum and many outdoor attractions.

High Peaks Resort has an expansive lobby with a variety of room sizes and locations. There’s even a small store in the lobby.

The resort actually features two separate properties across the street from each other, with the second property called Lake House. The surrounding town is set on scenic Mirror Lake, which supplies lake views and boating opportunities while staying at High Peaks Resort.

Staying at the Lake House is generally a less expensive alternative to staying at High Peaks Resort, but Lake House guests enjoy the ability to use High Peaks Resort pools.

The lake is across the street from the main resort buildings, but there are a few rooms in a smaller building right on the lake. There’s also a seasonal outdoor pool located along the lake.

When staying at High Peaks Resort overnight, guests have access to their boats for excursions on the lake. There is a variety of boats available, including paddleboats and kayaks. They provide the life jackets, too.

The resort features a total of four pools, with two being outdoor and seasonal, while two pools are indoors. The indoor pool area also features a hot tub.

While visiting Lake Placid, be sure to take some leisurely strolls into town. There are numerous restaurants, including Dancing Bears Restaurant, which is part of High Peaks Resort.
